How to ensure that there is no double counting of the right to carbon credits?
Double counting is an issue that was discussed at the last COP 26 (United Nations Conference on Climate Change, held in the city of Glasgow, Scotland). At the time, it was understood that the mitigation of emissions by a company within the Voluntary Carbon Market does not account for double counting in the context of Article 6, and, consequently, does not require a CA (Corresponding adjustments) to avoid double counting. However, a discussion is still awaited on in which situations it will be necessary to have CA's to avoid double counting.
